Skyhawks chop down beavers

The North Bay Skyhawks scored three unanswered goals in the third period en route to a 5-2 victory over the Blind River Beavers Friday night at Memorial Gardens.

Jon Ryan, Arron Assinewei, Frank Desbeins, Matt Lathem, and Denis Parent scored for the Skyhawks.

Dominic Leveille stopped 25 shots in the victory. The loss spoiled the homecoming for former North Bay Trapper netminder Andre Laperriere, who turned away 28 Skyhawks shots in the loss for the Beavers.

The Skyhawks are back on home ice Sunday night as they take on the Sudbury Junior Wolves. Game time is 7 p.m.
