Royals win shootout

The Temiscaming Royals still remain as the only undefeated team in the G.M.H.L. with a win against the Elliot Lake Bobcats 5-4 in a shootout Friday night in Elliot Lake. Sebastien Poirier - the Royals ninth shooter - got the game winner.

Darcy Vaillancourt had another productive game with 2 goals and an assist, while Chris Hebert and Alex Brazeau each chipped in with a goal.

Bryan Lawson collected the win in goal for the Royals.

The next game for the Royals will be Saturday, October 13th in Espanola against the Kings with a return game on Sunday at the Centre in Temiscaming.

Royal All-Stars

Four Royals players will be joining head coach Steve McCharles on the GMHL All-Star team.

Darcy Vaillancourt (Bonfield,who is presently on top of the scoring race for the league, along with Temicaming native Corey Raymond were selected as forwards, while Sebastien Poirier(La Sarre) and Rylan Henley (Longlac) will be joining the defense.

The All-Stars will go on two U.S. Division III College tours including one that will take place next weekend in upstate New York. Later in the year the same group will head west to play a group of Division III schools from Wisconsin.
