COPPER CLIFF, ON - It's been almost 2 months since the Royals last celebrated a victory. Their last was December 12th, a 4-2 victory over the Eskimos.

A five goal second period - including a hat trick from Darren Shecapio - was the difference tonight as the Royals skated to a 7-5 win over the Sudbury Jr. Wolves.

The Wolves led after the first period on goals from Chris Pontes and Evan Daciuk. Sudbury increased the lead to 3-0 only 51 seconds into the second on a Kyle Lekun power play. Then the Royals took over the period scoring five unanswered goals - three on the power play to take a 5-3 lead. Shane Golden, Cedric Boutin and the trio from Shecapio gave the Royals the lead. However, before the period ended Chris Kangas made it a one goal lead on a power play goal.

In the third period, the Royals outscored the Wolves 2-1 to secure the win. Josh Blacksmith and Andre Leclair got the goals for the Royals while Kyle Shaw replied for Sudbury. Cedric Boutin had 2 assists as did Benoit Fiset, Shayne Golden, Chris Hebert and Andre Leclair.

Francis Bernard earned the victory while Chris Kaye and Nick McMullen shared the duties for the Wolves.

The 3 stars were Benoit Fiset(T), Cedric Boutin(T) and Kyle Shaw(S)

Next game for the Royals is Friday, February 12th at 8:00 p.m. against the Trappers at the Centre.
