Raiders claim Junior Hoops crown

The Chippewa Raiders junior boys basketball team won its second consecutive NDA championship with a 59-38 victory over the West Ferris Trojans on Tuesday night. Chippewa's Shawn Humphrey led all scorers with 24 points.

The Chippewa Raiders junior boys basketball team won its second consecutive NDA championship with a 59-38 victory over the West Ferris Trojans on Tuesday night.

Chippewa's Shawn Humphrey led all scorers with 24 points. Brendan Lafontaine added 11 for the Raiders. Detlev Himmelman led the Trojans with 10 points.

Both teams finish their seasons with NOSSA playoffs this weekend. Chippewa travels to Espanola for 'AA' NOSSA, while West Ferris competes for the 'AAA' championship in Sudbury.
