The North Bay and District Peewee ‘AAA’ Trappers just finished up their first season in mid February when they were knocked out the opening round of the playoffs losing to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 2 games to 1 in the best-of-three playoff series.

The Peewee Trappers organization is already preparing for next season with a tryout camp in late April and early May.

Tryout dates in North Bay at Pete Palangio arena will take place on the following dates:

April 29th - 5:15 – 7:15 p.m.
May 2nd – 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
May 3rd – 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

“It looks like we will follow a similar format to last spring and summer except we will start a little earlier this year,” said Peewee Trappers general manager Randy Edmonds.

“We are ahead of last year with planning and evaluating players, kids with birthdates in 1997 and 1998 can attend.”

Any questions can be emailed to Randy Edmonds at [email protected]

New Coach

The Peewee Trappers are also looking for a new head coach as John Couch and his assistants Jamie Young and Mike Reise will not return next season with the club.

“John and his staff are moving on and we wish them the best,” said Edmonds.

“Our goal is to have a new head coach in place by tryouts but this is not necessary as it is important to find the right person and the tryouts and first evaluations we can run as a association if necessary.”

Any interested coaching applicants are asked to send their hockey resume to:
