TORONTO - Veteran linebacker Mike O'Shea re-signed with the Toronto Argonauts on Tuesday, agreeing to a one-year contract with a club option for the 2009 season.

The North Bay native recorded four sacks, 77 defensive tackles, four special-teams tackles and two forced fumbles last season.

"It's good to be able to pursue my passion for another year," O'Shea said in a statement.

"I wasn't ready to leave the locker-room yet, it has been like a second home to me. My kids are extremely excited to see dad play again this year."

The 37-year-old helped the Argos to Grey Cup titles in 1996, 1997 and 2004. He currently sits third on the CFL's all-time list with 1,083 defensive tackles.

O'Shea has been with the Argonauts since 2001.
