OFSAA Volleyball coming to the Bay

It was an unusual sight seeing West Ferris Trojans football and basketball head coach standing in front of a Widdifield Wildcats banner talking about Volleyball.

But on Thursday morning, Tougas exchanged his football headset for the OFSAA 'AAA' Girls Volleyball convener hat.

The Near North District School Board held the press conference at Widdifield to announce the news that 4 local schools will host the high profile event from March 8th to 10th, 2009.

"It will give us an opportunity to showcase our facilities, our schools, our board of education and foremost our athletes," said convener Larry Tougas.

Widdifield, West Ferris, Chippewa and Algonquin will host the 20-team event with the finals taking place at Widdifield on March 10th.
