North Bay physicians left their medical practices on Sunday for a different kind of practice. The North Bay Medics hockey team, led by captain Dr. Terry Rotondo and manager Dr. David Cochrane, accepted an invitation from the North Bay North Stars for an exhibition game at Pete Palangio arena. With all the other Special Hockey Teams residing in southern Ontario the North Stars enjoy taking on local teams as they prepare for their annual tournament in April.

The North Bay physicians team, which has been together for 18 years, was more than happy to get on the ice for a little extra practice. The team is gearing up for their own annual medical tournament, Docs on Ice, to be held in Niagara Falls this spring. The medical tournament is an all Ontario fundraiser with funds being donated to a charity in the host community, the Heart and Stroke foundation will be the recipient of this years donation.

The well practiced North Stars pushed the Docs to the limit and came out on top 10-9.

After the game Dr. Rotondo said the team enjoyed the game so much they hope to make it an annual event.
