North Bay Y Titans succeed at Youth Cup and Canada Cup

The past three weeks have been very busy for the North Bay Y Titans Swim Team. In Etobicoke, Dominique Bouchard and Jennifer Leckie represented the Titans at Canada Cup, Senior Nationals November 26-29.
The past three weeks have been very busy for the North Bay Y Titans Swim Team.

In Etobicoke, Dominique Bouchard and Jennifer Leckie represented the Titans at Canada Cup, Senior Nationals November 26-29. Dominique won her first medal at a senior national event, a bronze in the 200 backstroke.

November 28 and 29 the Titans were here in North Bay at the Paula Palangio Memorial Swim Meet / NEOR #2 at the CFB Pool. There were 44 new and experienced swimmers in attendance. Titans had 218 events in which they achieved 38 first place finishes, 36 second place finishes and 28 third place finishes.

Finishing in first place in each of their events were Renee Gagnon, Grace Liritzis, and Jeremy Sallie.

Top five finishes in all their events were Keltan Baran, Angelina Bolchakova-Racine, Alexandra Campbell, Samantha Cowan, Nolan Desjardin, Ashley Duquette, Olivia Gagnon, Kristen Gough, Sydney Hughes, Regan Jackson, Kristen Lazarou, Hutton Noth, Brittany Pask, Max Sherry, Alyssa Stoppa, Noah Swain, and Katherine Tripp.

Competing for their first time were excited Titans Genevieve Berardi, Sofia Berardi, Leah Dawson, Nolan Desjardin, Myriam Faucher, Evan Kilroy, Emma Lodge, Rayah Paterson-Jeanneault, Quinn Schroeder, Brett Stoppa, Bernard Uys, Chris Uys, Regine Wyss, Daniel Zhou and Megan Zhou. Many of these new swimmers placed in the top five for their events.

Titans achieving personal best times were Victoria Bidal, Emily Bolan, Aurora Buckley, Michaela Crea, Abbey Krajc, Kaytlin Legris, Rochelle Leppert, Amy Niemela, Kayley Niemela, and Garrett Ryan.

North Bay was well represented at Youth Cup on December 3-6 in Etobicoke by nine powerful Titans. The Youth Cup saw Jennifer Leckie, Bryanna Penno and Sydney Hughes make finals in several events. Sydney was 4th in the 50 backstroke and 8th in the 100 backstroke. Jennifer Leckie was 8th in the 100 breaststroke for 16-year-olds and Bryanna Penno was 7th for 17 and 18-year-old girls.
