Nicholson Gold at Wakestock

COLLINGWOOD, ON. - Fourteen-year-old Tyler Nicholson of North Bay brought home a new wakeboard and gold medal after capturing the amateur division title for ages 13 to 15 at the Wakestock World Class Wakeboard Competition held at Millenium Harbour in Collingwood this past weekend.

Tyler has been training this summer with his coach Mike Maynard of Hastings, Ontario. Maynard held a Wakeboard Camp at Fish Bay on Lake Nipissing hosted by Tylers parents the first week of July. Four students from the area attended for the 5 days and all participants and the three coaches stayed on site on the island the entire week of training.

Tyler will be competing at the Canadian National Wakeboard Championships, August 27-29th in Peterborough.
