The Lady Trojans notched another win outscoring Chippewa Raiders 49-19 on Thursday. Team defense held the Raiders to 4 points the first half. Rookie Tamara Valenti led the scorers for the trojans with 11 points. Kally Watmore added 9. Kelsey Balog, Lucy Millar, Caitlin Meyers, and Watmore play excellent defense causing many turnovers.
Sarah Zucaretto handled lots of pressure and led the raiders with a 6 point game.
Friday and Saturday the Lady Trojans are hosting the Annual Lady Trojan/Canadore College Basketball Classic. A total of 8 local teams and 24 out of town teams will be competing throughout the weekend. The West Ferris Trojans open the tournament with a 10:30 a.m. senior match against MacDonald Cartier from Sudbury. Games will be played throughout the weekend at six venues that include West Ferris, Chippewa, Widiifield, Odyssee, Algonquin, and Canadore College. Patrick Fogarty Juniors and Seniors are up from Orillia to defend their 2008 and 2009 championships.
