Jeff Portugues scored twice and Phil Hornby had the shutout as the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears shut out Northern Senior Secondary 5-0 in NDA Sr. Boys soccer action on Thursday night.
Mike Portugues, James Demarco, Matt Twomey scored the other goals in the Bears victory.
Trojans Defeat Wildcats
The West Ferris Senior Trojans tamed the Widdifield Wildcats last night with a strong team effort, which resulted in a 4-1 victory in senior boys soccer. Both teams worked hard in a well-played contest at the Trojan Alumni Complex. Striker John Gore and defenders Andrew Paibomsai and Mike McCrudden were stand out players for the Trojans, while midfielder Jordan Brooks and forward Jayson McFadyen turned in outstanding efforts for the Wildcats.
Goal scorers for the Trojans were Gore (2), Dean Tester and Sandy Burke. McFadyen spoiled Tyler Cowdon’s shutout bid with two minutes remaining in the game.
