NDA Hockey - Pats trim Cats

The Franco-Cité Patriotes picked up their first win of the young NDA hockey season on Wednesday night beating the defending champs, the Widdifield Wildcats 4-3 at Memorial Gardens.

Jean-Philippe Primeau scored twice to pace the Patriotes attack while Alain Desbois also scored. Jacob Proulx scored the winner late in the third period to complete the Pats comeback after being down 3-1 early in the third period. Joël Bazinet picked up two assists in the win. Cam Ladouceur, Paygebe Wabano and Tye Sheppard scored for the Cats.

Pat Labelle picked up the win in goal while Cody Doucette took the loss. Next up for the Patriotes is a date with the Scollard Hall Bears on Saturday night at the Gardens. Game time is 5pm. The Wildcats will meet the Algonquin Barons at 7:00 p.m. in the second game of a tripleheader on Saturday.

In other NDA action the Chippewa Raiders ended a 22-game winless streak with a 3-2 overtime victory over the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears. Ryan Darbyson scored the OT winner for the Raiders.
