The Skaters Edge Minor Bantam AA Blades, sponsored by the North Bay Police Association, have driven Tom Hedican's Coach4Food campaign above 15 tons of food. Ron Pigeau, Broker, Re/Max Legend Real Estate, in memory of his mother Margaret, and Jean Chaput and Investors Group, also made major financial contributions to help the Blades add 1,929 pounds.

Added to that, a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, has made a $500 contribution to Hedican's food bank drive to put the current total at 30,956 pounds with less than a week to go.

Coach4Food, whereby Hedican puts teams through a series of NHL and European skill drills in return for non-perishable food items for the North Bay Food Bank, set a record last year with 60,482 pounds.

Inspired by rock star Bruce Springsteen's work with food banks in Canada and the United States, Coach4Food's final total will be announced December 23rd.
