The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers jumped on the bus on Thursday as the team traveled to Waterloo to take part in the prestigious Waterloo Golden Puck Tournament.

A total of 5 Great North Midget League teams are participating in the event. Midget Trappers head coach John Couch is hoping for another positive tournament result. Back in October, the Trappers went 3 and 1 at the Ottawa Senators Midget AAA Showcase Tournament.

“It was fantastic when we were Ottawa the guys really stepped it up,” said Couch before boarding the Ontario Northland Charter to Kitchener-Waterloo.

“We are going to Waterloo with a full team this time with no injuries and no suspensions. We are playing at the top of our game right now in comparison to what we were at the start of the year with the last 5 or 6 games being within 1 or 2 goals against some of the top teams in the league. We are really happy where we are, it should be a good test,” added Couch.

The Trappers start things off on Friday afternoon when they take on Grey Bruce High and then at 9 p.m. on Friday night they take on the Ottawa Jr. 67’s.
