The North Bay Midget AAA Trappers fell to 1-2 on the season after a 4-2 loss at the hands of the New Liskeard Cubs. OHL draft prospect Brody Silk had 1 goal and 2 assists for the winners.
Scott Pawson and Brett Hargrave scored for the Midget Trappers.
The Trappers got off to a slow start and allowed the Cubs to build a 2-0 and 3-1 lead in the first period.
The play improved going into the final frame but the Trappers were unable to capitalize on some late chances - including an extended 5 on 3 power play in the latter portion of the third.
"It's early, I thought our players reacted well to a New Liskeard team that is solid (3-0 after tonight's win) and comes at you hard," said Trappers head coach John Couch.
Trappers goalie Tanner Davis was a key part of the game again and was given the red Trappers hard hat in honour of another near 40 save performance.
