Lumberjacks select Royals player first overall

The new Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks Greater Metro Junior A hockey club took part in the 5th annual GMHL draft on the weekend in Gilford, Ontario.
The new Sturgeon Falls Lumberjacks Greater Metro Junior A hockey club took part in the 5th annual GMHL draft on the weekend in Gilford, Ontario. The club selected NOJHL All-Star and former Nipissing Alouettes forward Andre Leclair with its first choice. Leclair was named the Greater Metro Junior 'A' MVP two seasons ago registering 49 goals and 110 points for the Alouettes. The Lumberjacks then used their second pick to take Western Hockey League's Prince Albert Raiders draft pick Taylor Love, who played with the Dallas Under 18 Stars last season.
