HAILEBURY, ON - The Legion Branch 23 Atom A Blades played with passion, heart and determination all tournament.

The tournament started out with a 6-1 win over the WF ACT Blades, then was followed up with another win over the always strong West Nipissing Quality Contracting Sting 5-4. Our third game was tough and ended up with a loss 5-3 against the home Temiskaming Shores team. The boys needed a big game against the Porcupine Woodgreen Eagles and they got it with a 10-0 win giving them first overall. The semi final game came early Sunday with the time change but the boys showed no ill signs of lack of sleep winning 8-2 over the WF ACT Blades setting up a rematch against the Temiskaming Shores team in the final. What a final, our parents where fantastic drowning out the home team fans and filling our boys with a positive energy that translated into their best game of the year. They saved the best for last and came away with a convincing 6-1 win to take the Gold medal.
