Lakers midfielder named OUA all-star

Nipissing University’s second year player Mustafa Zafarzadeh was named an Ontario University Athletics second team all-star.
Nipissing University’s second year player Mustafa Zafarzadeh was named an Ontario University Athletics second team all-star. Zafarzadeh a central midfielder have been an integral part of the Lakers success as they have reached the post season for past two seasons.

Zafarzadeh, a Peterborough native, possesses great technical ability and leadership qualities. The coaching staff has high praise for his attitude, effort and concentration on the pitch.

“This award is a very special as his efforts throughout the year have been recognized among the coaches in the league,” said assistant coach Tony D’Agostino.

“In fact, various coaches have approached me with praise for Mustafa s ability, work rate and attitude on the pitch. Mustafa s attitude on the training ground is always positive. He is always eager to learn and adapts to whatever tactics are installed by the coaching staff.”

The Lakers completed the regular season with a (4-8-2) record and advanced to the playoffs. The Lakers were eliminated by the University of Toronto as they beat the Lakers 4-1 in the first round.
