Lady Lakers in the hunt for bronze

The Nipissing Lady Lakers ranked 6th heading in to their first game at the Women's National Volleyball Championships, took on the very strong 2006 bronze medal team Malaspina College.
The Nipissing Lady Lakers ranked 6th heading in to their first game at the Women's National Volleyball Championships, took on the very strong 2006 bronze medal team Malaspina College.

Although the first two games were close, the Lakers just couldn’t get the edge, ran out of gas in the third game and gave up three straight sets to the team from Nanaimo.

Game 1 Malaspina over Nipissing 25-22
Game 2 Malaspina over Nipissing 25-21
Game 3 Malaspina over Nipissing 25-16

The Lakers will now battle Mount Royal College Cougars Friday at 3pm (6 p.m. EST)to move on to Saturday’s bronze medal game.

Megan Stacey was named the Laker's player of the game.
