North Bay Jr. A Trappers players gather around their choice as "Best Soup" at the Soup's On charity fundraiser.

The Junior ‘A’ Trappers had the opportunity to participate in the annual Heart and Stroke Foundation Soup’s On event that took place at the Best Western on Lakeshore.

Players Mike Bodley, Stan Smrke, Matt Weisensel, Markus Leikkari, JP Kascsak and Jesse Cere helped out with the silent auction, chatted with fans and had a chance to sample the soups from restaurants participating in the event.

It was a tough decision for the boys but the Trappers pick for soup of the show was King Street Grill’s Double Cheese and Bacon Burger Soup. The boys enjoyed it so much they had to go back for seconds. King Street Grill also shares the same neighborhood as the Trappers home ice, Memorial Gardens which makes it a great pit stop for the boys after long days of practice.

Catch one of the last regular season home games this Sunday as the Trappers take on the Temiscaming Royals 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens. Be sure to bring your camera for a chance to snap a picture with one of the official Olympic torches.

Grab Big Red’s attention for a chance to catch a t-shirt from the Trappers T-shirt Cannon sponsored by Aerus/Electrolux.
