Jr. Trappers mauled by Jr. Wolves

COPPER CLIFF, ON - The Sudbury Jr. Wolves scored 3 unanswered in a span of 5 minutes late in the third period to break open a 2-1 game as the Eastern Conference leading Wolves defeated the North Bay Jr. Trappers 5-1 Wednesday night at McClelland arena in Copper Cliff.

Brett Pinder scored the games' first 2 goals for the Jr. Wolves.

Nick Esposto, PJ Taus and Zach McGillis had the other goals for the Wolves.

Patrick Provencher scored the Trappers lone goal early in the third period.

Jr. Wolves rookie affiliate netminder Taylor Dupuis of the New Liskeard Cubs was named the games first star in his first NOJHL start making 36 saves.

Michael Codina-Lucia suffered the loss in goal for the Jr. Trappers turning away 30 shots.

The Jr. Trappers played the game without injured forwards Adam Marceau and Brennan Wright, while Kyle Rowe was out with the flu. In their place the Jr. Trappers called up local midgets Cody Levasseur, Dany Desrochers and Brodie Whitehead.

The Jr. Trappers (12-17-4) next action is Friday night when they host the Temiscaming Royals. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.
