The North Bay Jr. 'A' Trappers will look to move above the .500 mark with a win Tuesday night at Memorial Gardens against the struggling Abitibi Eskimos, who only have one win in five games early in the NOJHL season.

Last Wednesday the Trappers got their first win of the year against the Eskis in a 7-3 finish at the Jus Jordan arena.

Travis Fernley registered 5 assists in that game.

"Well you know I think we've got to play hard and play like we did against them last game and come out hitting and get them scared," said the Calgary, Alberta product.

"Hopefully our line and our team can have another big night and get a win in front of the home fans again."

Trappers rookie Ryan West netted his first career NOJHL hat trick in that game.

In 2009-2010, the Eskimos went on to win the season series against the Jr. ‘A’ Trappers 8 games to 2 as the Trappers won a pair of games back to back in December for their only two wins last season against the Abitibi squad.

Jr. ‘A’ Trappers goalie Laszlo Tamasik got the win for the Trappers on Friday night over the Royals when he replaced injured starter Micheal Mitchell and made 28 saves in the 5-3 win over their rivals down highway 63. Last season Tamasik won the Coy Cup, B.C. Senior ‘AAA’ Men’s hockey Championship, playing for the Powell River Regals.

Eskis rookie forward Richard Therrien leads the Eskis in scoring with 4 goals and 2 assists totaling 6 points. Therrien attended the Jr. ‘A’ Trappers July prospects camp.

Jr. ‘A’ Trappers Matt Weisensel, Travis Fernley, Cory Sellers, Sacha Guimond, Laszlo Tamasik, Adam Marceau, Ryan West and Trappers new Mascot “Hudson,” were at the opening of King Sportswear’s Kewl Outlet at Northgate Square on Saturday afternoon as they signed autographs and promoted the Trappers line of apparel that can be purchased at the Kewl outlet and of course in the lobby of Memorial Gardens during all Jr. ‘A’ Trappers games.
