Dan Frawley opened the scoring with a power play marker but that’s all the offence the North Bay Jr. A Trappers could muster as the Soo Thunderbirds defeated the visiting Trappers 3-1 at the John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie Friday night.

Jerry Petingalo, Any Grypma, and Tyler Evoy scored for the 4-3 Soo Thunderbirds in front of a sparse crowd of 110 at the Sault Ste. Marie arena.

“I thought we played pretty well,” admitted Jr. A Trappers head coach Ian Swalucynski.

“We didn’t get bounces and we didn’t play bad it was a good battle. I think anytime we play each other both teams get up for it and it was good hockey tonight.”
Swalucynski felt he got a solid performance from forwards Dan Frawley and newcomer Dan Zawacki.

The loss drops the Jr. A Trappers record to 6-2 on the season.

The Jr. A Trappers will head to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan on Saturday as they will take on the 4-0 Soo Eagles at the Pullar arena.
