Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the Lakers control, the exhibition game against RMC scheduled for Friday, September 24, has been postponed.

The announcement was made this afternoon in a press release and fans purchasing tickets were informed at the box office around noon on Thursday.

This does not affect the Saturday, September 25, game versus UOIT at 1 p.m. at Memorial Gardens, which will be played as planned.

The game is postponed because RMC has a shortage of available players due to of injuries and school commitments.

The September 24 game will be re-scheduled. Fans are asked to keep their ticket stubs for the rescheduled game, details of which will be announced at later date.

“We regret having to put the Lakers and their fans in this position,” said RMC head coach Adam Shell. “We considered all of our available options and unfortunately we simply don’t have enough players available to ice a team on this date and had to postpone.

“It’s unfortunate that the exhibition game against RMC had to be postponed, but we’ll ensure that our fans get another game and we look forward to seeing everyone at Saturday’s game against UOIT,” said Lakers Hockey head coach Mike McParland.
