The W.J. Fricker boys basketball team won the 20th Tomahawk Classic tournament Saturday night at Chippewa.
The boys went undefeated in their division to meet the Cité des Jeunes squad for the championship final. A final score of 34-25 sealed the deal for the Fricker Firebird boys to win the Tomahawk for the first time.
Team members are: Malcolm McCubbin, Dan Ryan, Zach Mason, Cooper Chirico, Ryan Etches, Nick Scott, Ryan Wilkinson, Tanner O'Brien, Will Christian, Eric Bowman, Davis Evans, Cole Niemi, and Brett Hargrave. The team is coached by Fricker teacher Kurtis Herron and by Randy Ellis.
Malcolm McCubbin and Eric Bowman were named All-Stars while Cole Niemi was tournament MVP.
