A handful of players from the Eurocamp Summer Stars Team 2000 and minor Atom teams have been invited to the Pro Hockey Brick Tryout Camp on December 21st in Toronto.

Eurocamp Summer Stars founder Randy Edmonds says the players received personal invitations to attend this camp.

"After our success last summer we have had many of our players contacted by Pro Hockey and a few other organizations which is flattering since we have worked with these kids for three years now both winter with our skill sessions and summers with our tourneys," said Edmonds.

"The highlight of last summer was winning the prestigious Canada's Wonderland Tourney going 6-0 against real good AAA calibre teams and beating the Mississauga Reps 7-2 currently ranked #6 in the province and beating the Vaughan Kings 7-2 as well currently ranked #5 in the province. This was done while missing a few key players at the time which was impressive."

Edmonds says in the short term it hurts the team to lose these players. They are hoping the local players selected can play for both organizations next spring.

"It is the Brick year so we do not want to stop them from the opportunity it will help them grow as hockey players and people and benefit us down the road," said Edmonds.

"We also have players like Zac Roy and Lucas Edmonds born 2001 who played for the Pro Hockey team last summer winning five of six AAA tournaments and ranked #1 in both Ontario and Quebec last summer and with Payton Vescio and Cole Craft participating this summer it gives us a huge contingent of core kids playing at a higher level which will pay dividends down the road for our local hockey players."

Last summer local Eurocamp player Brady Lyle played for the Toronto Bulldogs who lost in the finals of the tourney to Team Alberta.

"It shows us that our program is paying off and we are giving kids opportunities and see how we are now recognized as a top team at all of the tourneys we attend and to see all of the representatives from various top organization like the Toronto Marlies watching us play both the semi and final games last summer was impressive," added Edmonds.
