TEMISCAMING, QC. - The Abitibi Eskimos skated to a 8-3 win over the hometown Royals to remain as the only undefeated team in the NOJHL's Eastern Conference. The Eskimos didn't waste any time and scored only 12 seconds after the faceoff on a goal from Marc-Alain Begin. Robin Mendelsohn tied it about 2 minutes later on a nice cross ice pass from Andre Leclair while the Royals were shorthanded. The first period ended 1-1.

The second was the Royals' demise as Abitibi scored a couple of quick goals on Jim Murray, who was replaced half way through the second by Francis Bernard. The Eskis pounded Bernard for three more goals. Joshua Clancy, Felix Boutin, Joel Roy, Randall Rickard and Alex Fiset got the goals. Shane Golden and Rylan Henley responded for the Royals. Outscored 5-2 in the second, the Royals outshot the Eskis 24-12 but if not for several saves of the spectacular nature by Eddie Davey, the score could have been much different.

In the last frame the Eskis put the game away with a couple goals; Nick Beaudoin and Boutin with his second.

The teams will face each other Saturday night in Iroquois Falls.

Final shot count was 41 apiece.

The 3 stars were Eddie Davey, Felix Boutin and Shane Golden.
