The Temiscaming Royals faced a persistent Eskimo team today at the Centre. The visitors opened the scoring in the first period with goals by Dustin Roy and Felix Boutin on the power play. Things got worse in the second as the Royals fell behind 3-0 on a goal by Michael Robert.

In the third period, the Royals got one back on Cedric Boutin's goal, but only 32 seconds later Abitibi regained their three goal margin on Robert's second marker. Kory Cashaback put a little life in the crowd of 410 when he scored with less than five minutes to play. But Joel Roy of the Eskimos put the game out of reach with about two minutes remaining. A total of 32 penalties were called, the Royals took 19 of them.

The loss drops the Royals record drops to 4-9-2 on the season.

Shots on goal were 38-37 Abitibi. Francis Albert took the win in goal for the Eskimos while Mike Mesaros was credited with the loss.
