IROQUOIS FALLS, ON. - The Abitibi Eskimos ran up their record to a perfect 3-0 with a decisive 9-3 victory over the visiting Royals at the Jus Jordan arena Saturday night.
Not from a lack of power play opportunities, in the first period the Royals could not capitalize on two 5 on 3 power plays.

The Eskis scored twice in the opening period courtesy Randall Rickard and Nick Beaudouin as they gave the home town Eskis a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

The second started off on a good note for the Royals, as Andre Leclair scored a short-handed goal to make it 2-1. But the Royals then got in penalty problem taking four consecutive minors and then watched Abitibi score four times including two on the PP. Michael Robert, Eric Carrier, Felix Boutin & Matt St-Jacques made the score 6-1 Abitibi.

Jim Murray, who started the game, was replaced in the third by Francis Bernard.

Felix Boutin, scoring his second of the game on the power play made it 7-1 before two goals in less than a minute by Shane Golden and Stephan Gunner brought the Royals within four. But two more goals within 1 minute, one on another PP by Rickard, his second and Lafleur put the game out of reach for the Royals.
