The City of North Bay was given clearance to re-construct the dressing rooms at Pete Palangio Arena on Thursday.

An Occupational Hygienist from LEX Scientific Inc. in Guelph inspected the site on Wednesday, September 22nd and undertook further sampling. The results were received on September 23rd, indicating no Health and Safety Risks.

The dressing rooms at the double pad have been out of service due to mould since August 20th. City officials state in a press release that since late August contractors have been undertaking extensive cleaning, and restoration measures.

"Dressing rooms will have new wall coverings, benches repaired or replaced, and the entire lower level will be repainted," said Jerry Know, Managing Director of Community Services.

"Air sampling has been ongoing since the beginning of this situation. The re-construction of the dressing rooms will commence immediately with completion of the first six within two weeks after which the remaining six dressing rooms will be refurbished."
