Dragons storm Avalanche

THESSALON, ON - Drew Moffat scored three times to lead the Powassan Dragons to a 6-5 overtime victory over the Algoma Avalanche at the Thessalon Community Centre on Thursday night.

Brandon Amireault and Michael Scally scored in regulation while Dan Madigan and Justin Huycke scored in the shootout.

Rene Valez led the Avalanche with 2 goals and 1 assist.

Powassan Goaltender Pat Cormack stopped both shooters in shootout for the win, while turning aside 60 Algoma shots in regulation.

The Dragons travel to Elliot Lake to play the Bobcats Friday and return home to host the King Wild on Sunday at 3:30 at the Powassan Sportsplex.

The Dragons have a Christmas Ticket Book special with a cost of $40.00 for the final 8 home games of the season.
