Dragons can't hold off Bucks

POWASSAN, ON. - The Brock Bucks came into the Sportsplex very hungry for their first win of the season going 0-3 to start their campaign.
POWASSAN, ON. - The Brock Bucks came into the Sportsplex very hungry for their first win of the season going 0-3 to start their campaign. They took very little time to start when Alex Vasilenchenko and Myles Mitchell scores back to back early in the first to put the Dragons on their heels to start the game. The game went back and forth for a few more minutes with the Dragons peppering goaltender Cayden Edwards but could not beat him and the Mark Zaforin scored to make it 3-0. Dragons capitain Justin Huycke found the net before the end of the period to close the gap going into the second period.

In the second period the Dragons came out with determination and grit but could not score in the middle period and brock countered with two goals from Stanislav Shcherbakov and Zaforin to end the period 5-1.

The Russian imports carried the play for most part of the third period with their strong puck possesion game. Cody Mackinnon scored on the power play for the Dragons and the Bucks replied with 2 unanswered goals from Shcherbakov and Mitchell to round up the scoring.

Next game for the Dragons is this Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Sportsplex when they host the Elliot Lake Bobcats.
