Dany Desrochers continues to show why he is likely a top 3 round pick in this springs OHL Draft as he scored 2 goals and added 2 helpers as the North Bay Midget 'AAA' Trappers beat the Sault Ste. Marie North Stars 7-3 at West Ferris arena on Saturday night.

Michael Perrin also added 2 goals while Brett Hargrave registered 1 goal and 2 assists.

Tyler Field and Kieran Peltier had the other Trappers goal while Brodie Whitehead contributed with 2 assists.

Mississauga St. Michael's Majors 2010 4th round pick Grant Syrette had 1 goal for the North Stars. Tyler Sehovic and Joey Miller had the other goals for the Stars.

The win propels the Trappers into a tie for 3rd place in the Great North Midget League with the New Liskeard Cubs.

The Trappers can move into sole posession of 2nd - and a tie with the North Stars - with a win Sunday afternoon against the Sault Ste. Marie squad. Game time is 1:20 p.m. at West Ferris arena.

Couch to coach OHL Cup

Midget 'AAA' Trappers head coach John Couch has been selected to lead the Great North Midget League's best minor midgets at the OHL Cup in late March at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.

The tournament is a showcase for the top draft eligible players for this spring's OHL Draft. Last year the Trappers were represented by current Kingston Frontenacs forward Dylan Staples.

Couch will be joined behind the bench by Jason Young of the Nickel City Sons and Larry Bedard of the Sudbury Nickel Capital Wolves.
