Boston Pizza has taken a 1-0 lead in the best of 3 Men’s Ball Hockey League finals with an exiting 6-5 win over Wrightway-Grecos Monday night played at the West Ferris Arena. The defending champs Boston Pizza was lead by Ken Pagan who scored 5 goals while Mike Lalonde chipped in with the other. Wrightway-Grecos where lead by Jean Benoit with 2 goals while Nik Priebe, Matt Pepin and Mike McCrudden chipped in with singles.

Game two goes at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday night.

In the consolation final, Grant Tax also took a 1 game lead in their best of 3 with a 7-4 win over DGS-TJ Variety. Brad Brooks, Dan Madigan and Travis Mirault each had 2 goals for Grant Tax while Blair Daoust had one. Scoring for DGS-TJ Variety were Brandon Baril with 2 and Gerry Chatelaine and Anthony DeVuono each had 1 apiece.

Game two in this series goes Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
