Blade winless at Red Wings Tourney

TORONTO, ON. – The West Ferris Hilltop Variety Blades went 0 - 4 here on the weekend at the 28th Annual Toronto Red Wings Tournament. A total of 43 teams from Ontario, Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania competed for championship honours.
TORONTO, ON. – The West Ferris Hilltop Variety Blades went 0 - 4 here on the weekend at the 28th Annual Toronto Red Wings Tournament. A total of 43 teams from Ontario, Illinois, Michigan and Pennsylvania competed for championship honours. The Blades lost two games on Friday, 6-0 to the Whitby Wildcats and 3-1 to the Brampton Battalion. In Saturday’s action the Blades were defeated 12-1 by the Don Mills Flyers and 7-2 by the Mississauga Senators. Don Mills Flyers went on to capture the Consulation Championship with a 2-1 victory over the Oakville Rangers. Mississauga Senators were defeated in the Championship semi-final 6-3 by the Toronto Marlboros. Team Illinois defeated the Marlboros 6-1 in the Championship final.

The Blades will open their 2009-2010 regular season at the annual NOBHL Showcase event September 17-20 in Timmins.

The Showcase will feature all five NOBHL teams and two Quebec entries. Each team will play a six game round robin schedule.
