Big medal haul for Bouchard and Liritzis

More than 200 swimmers from Northern Ontario and Quebec came to North Bay to compete in the Titans annual swim meet this past weekend at the YMCA.
More than 200 swimmers from Northern Ontario and Quebec came to North Bay to compete in the Titans annual swim meet this past weekend at the YMCA.

World ranked Dominique Bouchard - who took home High Points trophy for her age group - produced 7 golds and a silver. Teammate Grace Liritzis won the High Points trophy for 10-year-old girls claiming 5 golds, a silver and a bronze.

In the Sprint Division, Samantha Cowan and Keltan Baran led the way with Cowan taking two golds, three bronze finishes and Baran nabbing a gold, three silvers and three bronze finishes. Ashley Duquette, Renee Gagnon, Kristen Gough,Angelina Bolchakova-Racine, Brittany Pask and Bryanna Penno all claimed several top three finishes. Continuing in the Sprint Division Olivia Gagnon, Max Giesler and Garrett Ryan swam to top five positions while Emily Bolan, Kayley Niemela and Katherine Tripp swam to top ten positions. Aurora Buckley, Alexandra Campbell, Amy Niemela, Hutton Noth and Alyssa Stoppa achieved 100% personal best times in their events. Rebecca Gough, Kristen Lazarou and Rochelle Leppert all claimed several personal best times.

Competing in the Iron Man Division were Jennifer Leckie, Nicole Plumb, Jeremy Sallie, Max Sherry and Shelby Twilt. Sallie claimed two Age Group National Times in the 1500 meter and 800 meter freestyle with Sallie, Plumb and Sherry nailing top three finishes in all their events while Twilt achieved 4 medal finishes and Leckie 3.
