Bears win NOSSA title in Sudbury

The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears are coming home Wednesday night as NOSSA 'AAA' champions after they edged the Lasalle Lancers 3-2 in the final at the Countryside Sports Complex in Sudbury.


The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall Bears are coming home Wednesday night as NOSSA 'AAA' champions after they edged the Lasalle Lancers 3-2 in the final at the Countryside Sports Complex in Sudbury.

Jamie Olivier, Jamie Maille and Thomas Casey scored in the victory.

Bears forward Graham Loyst was named tournament MVP.

The Bears dropped their NOSSA opener 6-2 to the Lancers on Tuesday before rattling off three victories en route to the tournament championship.

The Bears defeated Sir James Dunn 5-2 in their second game and Wednesday morning they thumped Lockerby 7-1 thanks in part to a hat trick by Kevin Kosturik.
