Boo! Hope I didn’t scare, maybe it’s a little late for tricks like that, but Sunday October 31st was a night filled with tricks and treats. In North Bay most of the action was down at the Fire Hall, where one could find themselves in an abundance of candy at one point and a terrifying haunted house later on. The Trappers were able to volunteer their time in the evening to help at the Fire Hall and give out handfuls of candy to all of those in attendance. We also gave out some free tickets to our game this coming Friday against the Soo Thunderbirds.

Coming from Calgary and different Halloween traditions, I had never been to an event like this. As I said before, in Calgary I am much more accustomed to the endless door to door trick’r’treating routine, but the Fire Hall and all its volunteers did a fantastic job. There was no shortage of candy to go around, warm drinks for those who got a little cold in line, a majestic carved pumpkin display and a top-notch throw together haunted house. A very well organized evening and extremely fun event to participate in.

It was quite exciting to see all of the fun and creative costumes kids came up with. All of the costumes that I saw were great, but there were a few that, for me, stood away from the rest. My top three favourite costumes of the night had to be; the Cupcake, Guitar Hero and the Lego Man. Very clever and innovative costumes.

That’s all for this week, and try not to have too many “Halloween leftovers” as the week goes by. Until next week!

GO! Trappers! GO!
