Battle of the OHL regulation unbeaten at Gardens tonight

A pair of strong teams that have not suffered a regulation loss will hit the ice at Memorial Gardens Thursday night as the 7-0 Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds travel to North Bay to face the 3-0-0-3 North Bay Battalion.

With their perfect record, the Greyhounds are ranked 2nd overall in the Canadian Hockey League rankings.  

The Hounds, Battalion and Erie Otters are the only teams left in the OHL without a regulation loss.  

For the Troops, they are coming off an exciting 4-1 victory over the Barrie Colts on Thanksgiving Monday. Nick Paul led the way offensively with 3 goals while Zach Bratina contributed the other goal in the regulation victory.  

Meantime, the Soo is led by 2015 NHL Draft Prospect Blake Speers who has netted 4 goals and 9 assists during the Hounds perfect 7-0 start.  The Sault Ste. Marie native sits in 6th spot in OHL scoring.  

Paul leads the Battalion and sits 14th overall in league scoring with 6 goals and 3 assists for 9 points in 6 games so far this season.  Paul sits 6th overall in OHL goal scoring.    

Pink in the Rink

The Battalion will also be wearing pink to support the Canadian Cancer Society.   The Troops will wear custom pink sweaters, which will be available for purchase via a silent auction to be conducted in the north concourse.
