The Algonquin Barons are off to a roaring start at the OFSAA "A" girls volleyball championships being held in Richmond Hill this week.
The Algonquin Barons are off to a roaring start at the OFSAA "A" girls volleyball championships being held in Richmond Hill this week.

The Barons entered the tournament ranked 4th and on Tuesday in pool play they won their four matches and finished first in their pool. The perfect record allows them to advance to Wednesday's quarter-finals versus E.S. Le Caron from Cornwall (12:30 start).

In their flawless opening day the Barons defeated St. Thomas Aquinas from Kenora 25-22, 16-25, 15-9; Trinity College School from Port Hope 25-23,25,18; E.S. Ste. Famille from Mississauga 25-18, 25-14 and A.C. Mere-Terese from Hamilton 25-9, 24-26, 15-12.
