Bantam House Girls win Gold

The North Bay Bantam House League girls hockey team competed in a pool of 16 teams in the Sudbury Snowflake Tournament this past weekend.


The North Bay Bantam House League girls hockey team competed in a pool of 16 teams in the Sudbury Snowflake Tournament this past weekend. They won all of their round robin games beating Chapleau 2-1, Sudbury Just Lubes 4-0 and Sudbury Technica Tigers 3-0.

In the quarter-finals they faced a strong Thessalon team where they were tied after regulation and overtime and won on the last shooter in the shootout. In the semis they beat Azilda Auto Wreckers on their home turf 3-1. In the finals they challenged the Hearst Pink Ladies and came up as the winners with a goal scored with 1.9 seconds left in the third period. Once again a very exciting weekend.

Team members include: Jamiee Washburn, Allie Seamont, Amy Ransom, Sarah Major, Danny Migwans, Danielle Tellier, Tianna Hummel, Jenny Peplinskie, Brooke Mathias, Demi Mathias, Carlie Castiglione, Carla White and goalie Heather Thomas. Coaches are Tom Mathias, Ted Hummel and Trainer Linda Seamont.
