WATERLOO, ON – WF Hilltop Variety Blades went 0-4 in the Waterloo Gold Puck Tournament here on the weekend.
Huron-Perth Lakers edged the Blades 3-2 in game one of round robin play. The Blades got goals from Courtney Geisler and Tyler Peters.
In Friday’s second contest the Blades lost to NOBHL foes Timmins Eagles 6-3. Scoring for the Blades were Steven Leveque, Jake Staples and Matt Salter.
Grey-Bruce Highlanders handed the Blades their third loss holding a 1-0 lead with under three minutes to play. Three power play goals in less than 90 seconds gave the Highlanders a 4-0 win.
An uninspired effort by the Blades put them on the wrong end of a 12-0 score to the host Waterloo Wolves in game four.
The Wolves captured top honors defeating NOBHL Soo Thunder in the championship game 4-0.
Blades wrap up the 2009 leg of their season when they travel to Sudbury Dec 19th and 20th to play the Sudbury Anmar Wolves.
