IROQUOIS FALLS, ON - The Abitibi Eskimos continued their domination over the North Bay Jr. A Trappers with a convincing 7-3 win in the last regular season meeting between the top two clubs in the NOJHL Eastern Conference.

Felix Boutin had 2 goals and 1 assist to lead the Eskis to victory, while linemate Marc-Alain Begin contributed 1 goal and 2 assists.

The game was closer than the score indicated, according to Trappers head coach Ian Swalucynski.

"This wasn't a 7-3 game," said the Trappers bench boss.

"The Eskis had 4 unbelievable bounces that cost us. We played hard. The funny bounces went their way, but the Hockey Gods will even that out sooner or later."

Dan Zawacki scored twice for the Jr. Trappers with J.P. Kascsak pulling the trigger for the other goal.

Eric Carrier, Riley Currie, Michael Robert and Ryan McDonald rounded out the scoring for the Eskis who finished with an 8-2 regular season record over the Trappers.

With Michael Mitchell still about a week away from return, Ryan Fitzsimmons got the start in goal for the Trappers in the loss while Eddie Davey got the win in goal for the Eskis.

The Trappers look to rebound on Saturday night as they head up highway 63 with a clash with the Temiscaming Royals at the Centre in Temiscaming.

The Trappers are back on home ice Sunday night when they host the Soo Eagles. Game time is 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens.
