Avalanche over Jacks in offensive showdown

Colton Dow, a 16-year-old from Humboldt, Saskatchewan, scored a hat trick for the Lumberjacks. Local boy Michel Dumont scored the first ever home goal in Lumberjacks history. Cody Mackinnon, Jensen Faulkner and Cam Moffat also scored for the Jacks (2-3-0). Marcus McSweeney, Zane Pitawanakwat and Mackinnon also added two helpers each.

Both Muio and Fantham scored twice and added two helpers for the Avs, while Kaleb Chillman, Maksim Firsov, Bruce Cada and Mathew Fitzpatrick each scored once for the visitors.

Paul Breton took the loss in goal for the Lumberjacks making 30 saves. Pontas Ribbenstedt picked up the win despite facing 60 shots on the night.

The Lumberjacks now get set to host the league-leading Elliot Lake Bobcats on Saturday night at the Sturgeon Falls Arena. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
