GUTHRIE,ON. - The Nipissing Alouettes completed a 3-game sweep with a 3-1 victory over the Oro-Medonte 77's in game 3 of the best-of-five GMHL opening round series here Sunday night.

Robin Mendelsohn continued on his goal scoring tear with a pair; giving him 8 goals in the first round of the playoffs. Justin Huycke scored the other goal for the Als. Andre LeClair had 2 assists.

Alouettes head coach Lui Ricci was pleased with the effort as the Sturgeon Falls squad moves on to the GMHL North Division semi-final against either Elliot Lake or South Muskoka.

"The kids played a good road game," said Ricci.

"They (Oro) had no gas in the 3rd,” added Ricci noting both teams were playing their third playoff game in as many nights as the Alouettes took the first two games of the series on Friday and Saturday in Sturgeon Falls.
