Bump, set, spike! The Almaguin Senior Girls Volleyball team was on fire during their GBSSA finals February 25th, 2009. Going into the finals against PSS (Penetaguishine Secondary School) the girls were prepared and ready to show their full potential. Losing the first set to a score of 25-19, the girls did not get discouraged and came back winning three sets in a row with the scores of; 25-19, 25-22, and 25-22. The girls dominated the net with huge hits, and massive blocks shutting the other teams offence down. They were just as strong on the defence with great first passes and amazing sets leading them to their biggest win of the season. The girls now need to travel to Kenora to compete in the OFSAA 'AA' girls volleyball championships.

For the girls to travel to Kenora donations are needed from the girls hometowns and communities in order to make it there. Any donation will be greatly appreciated so please help the girls show how small communities can have great potential. If your willing to make a donation please call 472-5563 and speak to Ms Wardlaw head coach, or Miss Beaudoin, Vice Principal. Help us carry over our athletic history into the halls of the new Almaguin.
