The North Bay A&W Midget B Ice Boltz went into Etobicoke October 22nd for their first tournament action of the year and struck gold in the final game Sunday afternoon, defeating a very good team from St Clair, 2-0 in the final.

"It was a good test for us, early in the new season," said head coach Glen Huard. "We wanted to use the tournament as a measuring stick of where we are competitively in the province."

The round robin games for the Ice Boltz were an 8-0 win over Mississauga, and a 3-3 tie with Kanata. Saturdays games saw the Ice Boltz continue their great play, defeating Milverton 6-1 and overpowering a team from North Halton 6-0 in the tournament semi final Saturday afternoon, setting the stage for the Ice Boltz to play in the Sunday final.

"The game Sunday was a true test for us," said Huard. "We played a team that was an equal, and made us focus on the game from start to finish. The coaching staff is very proud of the team this weekend. They are quickly understanding how team work and working together builds a winning environment."
