Jessie Howg scored a third period powerplay goal to break a 2-2 tie as the Kirkland Lake Legion 87's edged the North Bay Trappers 3-2 Saturday night in Kirkland Lake.

Darcy Vaillancourt scored both Trapper goals, while Marc Senecal and Kyle Willard each added a pair of assists in the loss.

Brennan Duquette, an affiliate player from West Nipissing, got the loss in goal for the Trappers.

After going unbeaten in the month of January, the Trappers have now lost three straight; losing a pair to the Soo North Stars last weekend along with the loss to the 87's.

The Trappers finish the regular season on the road Sunday as they visit the Sudbury Nickel Capitals.
