Warrant leads to drug seizure

POWASSAN – Members of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit, with the assistance of members of the Tactical Rescue Unit (TRU), Emergency Response Team (ERT), Canine Unit and the North Bay Police Service, executed a search warrant at a residence in Chisholm Township on May 3, 2016.

Seized, as a result of the search, were marijuana plants, four firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Arrested and charged are:

Sandra Karman, age 58, and Zanyl Zenon Karman, age 60, of Chisholm Township with,

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, section 91(1) of the Criminal Code(CC);
  • Produce a Schedule II Substance- (cannabis marihuana), section 7(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

Both accused were released from police custody and are to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay, Ontario on May 24, 2016.
